Y.R.U platforms #MustHave

Hey!

#MustHave is another themed series of blog posts like the #FashionInspiration posts (yes I use hashtags a lot) which focuses on items of clothing or beauty that, in my opinion, are absolutely essential. In the future, the items are more likely to be in groups for instance leggings, tights etc but I think these shoes deserved their own post. So to start off this #MustHave series we have the Y.R.U Qozmo Hi Platform Sneakers. Not to be confused with the Qozmo Sky Platforms which, as much as I love ridiculous platforms (and I do with a fiery passion), they were too high even for me.

When I was little I loved the Spice Girls and these shoes are really similar to the Buffalos Baby Spice wore. In fact there are a few pairs now and again of the original Buffalo version popping up on eBay. These however, are readily available on ASOS as is the identical black pair.

Anyway, here are a few pictures of the shoes:

They come in a large, really sturdy box wrapped in both tissue and plastic. I still keep the shoes in the plastic wrapping because they're white and can get dirty easily.

I'm usually a size UK5 (EU38) in most shoes. Admittedly I'm more of a 4 1/2 but I like to have more space in the shoe. The size 5 wasn't falling off my foot but it was a tad too roomy. Also, I didn't think it would be the best idea to have my foot slipping out and then losing my footing, falling and possibly breaking my neck because...when it comes to platforms you're really risking your life for the sake of fashion sometimes. So the size 4 (EU37) still had a bit of room to make them comfortable and felt a lot more secure.

Tongue out.

Tongue in.

I absolutely love these shoes and if you're a fan of platforms do not hesitate to buy them! I was worried about the platform itself feeling really cheap, lightweight and with a foam texture but that's not the case at all. They're heavy and firm and definitely worth the money. As for styling, I feel they're more of a summer time shoe as they work best with bare legs or maybe nude tights/tattoo tights. The white is also really bright as you can probably tell from the flash of my camera, so they'll stand out in the summer sun. If there's sun...I live in England so...

The laces are quite long so you have the option of tying them all the way up your ankle using the hooks at the sides but I think it looks better with no laces showing so I try to tie a bow behind the tongue. But if you are worried about your ankle possibly turning over in the shoe you might want to tie them all they way to the top so you feel more secure, until you become a platform pro. Because they're flat they're really easy to walk in it's just the height that may be a problem.

I will post pictures of me wearing them and put together in a co-ord but that will be in a later post with other platform shoes in the #MustHave series.

Just buy them, seriously.

Choom xoxo
