I went to visit Sadie (@shadykleo) in Southampton to help out with her Final Major Project and also to work on our own little project. I took a coach to Southampton from London and it was a surprisingly comfortable journey. As soon as I arrived Sadie took me straight to the studio and since it was my first time in a proper studio so I was really really excited! Everything looked so professional, from the lighting, soft boxes, backdrops, etc. After doing shoots in such a professional and relaxed (noone staring at you) environment it's going to be so hard to go back to just shooting on location without all the proper equipment.
This was my first look! Sadie lent me the hair cones, I think it really brings out my inner alien/unicorn.

This shoot was rushed because neither of us realise the studio closed at 4pm and we only started shooting at 2pm. Oops. Still managed to get good shots out of it though which was good! We headed back to Sadie's afterwards and I was initiated into the house via a game of Mario Kart which I sucked at. I think I'm only good at Tekken, oh well.
Sadie and I were talking about weird instagram aesthetics so we tried to channel them while playing Mario Kart (p.s. check out Sadie's shady shades and gold leggings that I borrowed, so funky.)
The next day we got up at 8am, somehow, considering we didn't sleep till 3am. We were surprisingly productive that day and managed to get through a lot of shoots. Here are two of my three looks! The first was just what I happened to be wearing that day and the second was a for a make up students portfolio, which she said I can use for my blog! I put the outfit together, bought the hair accessories and face stickers and she styled my hair and makeup with all the stuff I had bought. I love this make up! I thought I wouldn't like something so bold and over the top but the look was based on the Japanese style of Decora which is all about being over the top and the make up really pulled it together.
I will give full outfit rundowns once all the photos have been completely edited.
I've come to realise how much effort goes into these shoots and how much time it takes. From the hair and make up, to the styling, lighting and concepts, photoshoots are a long process and I've really come to appreciate that!
It was sad I only got to spend a day and a half with Sadie doing shoots but reality calls and I have to get back to revising for exams!! I can't wait to see the edited photos and I can't wait to share them!
Choom xoxo
