So I've been blogging for a while and I don't think I've done much to let my readers (all five of you) get to know me. From the pictures you'll probably have some sort of impression of me so I just thought I'd do a little Q&A (with myself) and you can confirm or deny who you think the blogger behind the blog really is.
Name? Choom.
Choom's not your real name is it? Nope.
Why do you call yourself that then? If anyone is familiar with the k-pop group Big Bang you might know about the time one of the members, T.O.P, called up a radio station and started calling himself Choom T.O.P when he dances. Who knows why he just decided that, or maybe it's a Korean thing I have no idea? So when I was changing my tumblr name and setting up my Youtube channel I decided to use the name Choom because T.O.P is my favourite member from Big Bang and on my channel I mostly do dancing videos so...there's your answer!
Where are you from? London, UK! I love this place. Sure we have shitty TFL and everything is ridiculously expensive but it's all made up for the fact we have Boris Johnson and Oxford Street.
How would you describe your fashion style? J-fashion inspired street style, I suppose. You can probably tell I don't tend to stick to a particular style, but I have found that my outfits are either all black or all pink. With slight variations. I don't know to be honest I'm very confused.
Favourite brand? Clothes; It used to be Alexander McQueen but now not so much, Vivienne Westwood (duh), Kenzo, Moschino, this list is forever changing. Shoes; Dr. Martens, Buffalo.
Where do you get the money for all your clothes? Student loan. Also, I'm an only child that lives at home so I don't pay for student accommodation or food. Ballin'. I'm going to have to pay it all back in the distant future so might as well take advantage while I can.
Favourite music? K-pop. I listen to a lot of music but it is mostly k-pop as in Big Bang, 2NE1, B.A.P, Girls Generation, 4Minute, Ailee, K.Will, IU, AKMU, After School, Orange Caramel you get the idea. Also, j-pop (Kyary is queen), Odd Future, Frank Ocean (I can't even express how much I'm in love with this man), Katy Perry, Amanda Fucking Palmer, Lana Del Rey, Panic! At The Disco, the list goes on.
Favourite film? Memories of Matsuko, Swan Pincess (my friend Rebecca and I know all the words).
Favourite food? Burritos.
Favourite drink? Any sort of milkshake or cream soda.
Favourite book? Any Murakami Haruki novel, 1984 - George Orwell, Noughts&Crosses - Malorie Blackman, The Pillow Book - Sei Shonagon.
What are you doing with your life? I'm currently studying Japanese at university and I'm in second year so I'll be off to Japan (hopefully) for my third year.
Why Japanese? Because I like languages, I've done French and Spanish and you know when you just fall in love with something. It was that. Me and Nihongo. I first discovered it through the conventional means i.e. anime and manga but I slowly discovered the street fashion and film and aspects of pre modern history (my favourite period being the Heian period) and the best thing is to go to university to study something you intensely love, right? I considered doing Japanese and Korean but a) it's too hard to learn both from scratch b) it would be so hypocritical to learn Korean just because of k-pop.
Anything else interesting? I'm half French, half Trini. I'm a Libra. My birthday is October 21st. I'm not a morning person. I'm spontaneous and enjoy spontaneous trips either alone or with friends.
