Upgrading my wardrobe

Hey!

So I'm turning 20 soon (this is the scariest thing ever) so I've decided to make a few changes concerning my fashion choices. Usually when people grow up they tone down their style and become more conservative but if anything I feel like I want to go in the opposite direction. I feel like right now I have the opportunity to evolve into a style of my own, and I have the confidence to do so.

Along with this I've also decided to rid myself of satisfying my need for a 'quick fashion fix.' Ever since I discovered I don't use much of my student loan for anything academic that quickly turned into money geared towards my spending habit. Oops. I had been wearing school uniform for most of my life (all the way up to age 18) so as soon as university started and I was finally able to wear my own clothes I went a bit nuts with the spending. As a result my wardrobe shelves are bending and my shoe collection is growing at an alarming rate. So I'm going to focus less on high street fashion which I can buy super regularly and more on quality high end stuff that I'll have to save up for and be more appreciative of. I'm not going to abstain completely from high street brands but I think I realised there was a problem when the woman that makes the deliveries to my house now knows me personally and even said, "you keep me in a job."

I'm very much 'if I like it I'll buy it' sort of person because why stop yourself from not getting what you want. If you have the means to have something why not have it? But to be honest I think sometimes I take this mentality too far and buy things unnecessarily. For me, it's less about money and more more about necessity. Asking the questions, 'do I really need this?' or 'do I really need this right now?' are going to be important to keep in mind.

I'm not going to lie and say money isn't a factor in this because this was honestly my face when I checked my bank balance.

But when my student loan comes in in September, I'll be a savvy shopper! I promise...
