So this isn't part of my usual posting schedule but it's really important and exciting. Sailor Moon has been issued a re-release by Viz Media which means ALL 200 episodes have been remastered and are UNCUT and UNCENSORED. It really annoyed me that the version I watched growing up cut out a lot of scenes from the episodes and even changed the relationship of two of the characters (Sailor Uranus and Neptune) from being lesbians to being cousins. Not to mention they changed Fish Eye's gender to a female even though he was clearly a male (there was a scene where he took his top off and he had pecks but it was passed off as 'she's an alien they don't have boobs') because Fish Eye was attracted to men and I think the gender of another of the character in the first series. So I'm really happy that they're sticking to the original plot this time round. Plus, Viz has re dubbed the entire series meaning the fifth season finally gets dubbed! This is so important to me because I grew up watching the dubbed version so my heart lies there while with all other anime's I watch the subbed. I am slightly sceptical of the dubbed voices because they tend to make magical girls sound really whiny and nasal so I'm hoping Naoko Takeuchi, who's overseen the whole thing, approves of the remake. Also I'm hoping there's a site that will stream it outside the US. I. Am. So. Excited!!!!
