I went to a BBQ on Sunday and decided to not dress super casually for once! Well for me this isn't casual, maybe smart casual? I never understood what that meant but whatever. The garden was lovely so my mum insisted on taking pictures (for the blog! she said) so we did an impromptu shoot.
I really wanted to capture the movement of the sheer cape as it really flows well with the wind. I really like clothes with movement like the kimono jacket from my BANKAI outfit post as it just adds something interesting to a photo.
I love the contrast of the natural setting with my graphic print dress. Two things that really shouldn't go together but they do. Also I would usually have paired shoes that were delicate with this light summer dress but I wore my huge Y.R.U platforms instead. Both really statement pieces that seem to balance out when worn together. So it was worth taking the risk, never play it safe!
I didn't go in the pool. I'm really not a water person and I strongly dislike swimming but funnily enough when I was younger I used to watch the film Splash! incessantly and fantasize about being a mermaid. Such a strange child.
