Hey!
This post is loooooong overdue but there is a reason for that! Perfume asked that nothing about the show should be uploaded while they're still touring so as not to ruin the surprise for anyone who hasn't seen it yet which is completely understandable. But I think the tour is over so here's my post!
Perfume is a Japanese pop/techno girl group with three members Kashiyuka, A~Chan and Nocchi who look like they are some sort gorgeous kawaii futuristic robots. This is the second time I'm seeing Perfume so I had more of an idea of what to expect ie amazing lights and choreography. And they did not disappoint at all! They did not take a step out of sync (apart from when Nocchi slipped but she recovered well so hardly anyone noticed) and of course they just emit boundless amounts of energy which kept the crowd going the whole night. It's easy to lose the initial buzz after the opening few songs but I didn't stop dancing throughout the whole thing.
The lights were amazing I felt like I was in a rave when they shot lasers into the crowd and prjected images onto the ceiling it was brilliant. The lights and choreography were so in sync and Perfume absolutely blew me away. In between their songs they talk to the audience which I think is great because you often get artists just talking at the audience or just screaming 'oh my god you guys are so beautiful tonight I love you' followed by the piercing sound of girls screaming. Instead Perfume talked to the audience and asked us for places to go to eat in London and someone said 'Nandos' which was probably the best response ever. A-chan then went into a fifteen minute speech about how the sunlight hit her face too strong while she was in the car and the flap that's supposed to block the sunlight is too small. I kid you not. It was so cute but so very random.
After the concert my friend and I were interviewed by Perfume's tour crew and we might even make it onto Perfume's official tour DVD! We said that we loved their energy and how fun it is to be at a Perfume concert and recommended them to go to Cyberdog in Camden because they would really like it there.
I honestly think that if you get a chance to go to a jpop, or even a kpop, concert you should go whether or not you know the group or band that well. I know very few Perfume songs (my favourite is Fake It) but that will never ever stop you from having an amazing time.
ステキなコンサーだって、楽しかった。来年もロンドンに来てください!
