So you may have never heard of Yuuko Ichihara, a tall, thin, dark haired woman, who also happens to be fictional! I know it's slightly odd to draw inspiration from anime but I really loved the costumes she wore in both XXXholic and Tsubasa Chronicles.
I wasn't able to find many stills or scans from the anime and manga that properly captured her elegant style. I am absolutely in love with the idea of dressing in a floor length flowy kimono it just is the epitome of cool in my opinion. Yuuko also has a really long and beautiful hime cut (which I myself had a while back but it was nowhere near as perfect she's an anime character after all). I think I am also drawn to her costumes because of the excellent illustration by CLAMP (creators of XXXholic, Tsubasa Chronicles and Chobits) which are really detailed, especially in the manga.
Why not get inspiration from cartoons and turn cosplay into everday clothing? I really enjoy pushing boundaries...
